Career
The Early Career Engineer program was developed in 2008 and is off to a great start. The goal of this program is to keep young engineers involved with each other, the industry and ASME. As with most ASME efforts this program is led by committee. We are lucky enough to have early career committee members from ConocoPhillips, Chevron, FMC, Subsea 7, Dril-Quip, Dannenbaum Engineering and Ventech Engineers International. With guidance from Amrah Sanchez of the ASME staff this committee has planned and promoted several successful events both networking and educational. The first of these events was a financial seminar geared towards the
young engineer; topics included investing basics, home buying, and
budgeting following the seminar the group enjoyed a few games of bowling.
The group has also hosted happy hour at a trendy downtown location.
It is hoped that this will become a regular monthly event. For more
