I hear the relentless heartbeat of overworked, overstressed people. Can you imagine any other industry that is as active as the oil and gas business right now? The term “crazy busy” is used quite often when referencing our work life. As if you weren’t busy enough, along comes our friend, Hurricane Ike, to completely knock us off kilter!
Even during this period of high work load, remember to give back. Volunteerism is an investment in the industry and in yourself. Don’t let these busy times isolate you from the service to the industry. The Petroleum Division offers a wealth of opportunities to serve the Oil and Gas business. Take advantage of these opportunities!
It is my pleasure to serve the Petroleum Division as the incoming Chairman of the Executive Committee. I thank Charlie Burton for his service as Chairman during the 2007-2008 fiscal year and thank Bill Eustis for his service during the last seven years on the Executive Committee.
I am very excited to be working with our Executive Committee. Charlie Burton, Phil Collins, Don Wells, Skipper Strong, Gary Harrison and our newest member Chris Barton are shining examples of people who work hard and are committed to make the Petroleum Industry a better place to work. Expect great things from this group in the coming years.
